camille_cannon_by_krystal_ramirez_web_14 As a child, Camille Cannon wanted to be many things: a chef, a music video director, a professional basketball player, Beyoncé.

Without a clear path to realizing all of those dreams, the Northern California native decided to go to college, and graduated from U.C. Berkeley with a B.A. in Media Studies in 2012. After graduation, Cannon landed at the award-winning weekly magazine, Vegas Seven. She spent the next three years covering arts & entertainment, nightlife, dining and news, working her way from intern to Associate Editor.

In 2015, Cannon transitioned to the role of Digital Content Editor at CBS Radio, overseeing web and social media strategy for six brands. She is now a full-time freelance writer/editor, producer and radio host. Cannon says her proudest accomplishment is founding SKIRRT.com, a small corner of the Internet where hip-hop, comedy and feminism grind together.

Friends describe Cannon as curly-haired, over-caffeinated and really-into-the-Canadian-rapper-Drake. When she’s not working or listening to music, you can find her wandering the aisles of Target for things she did not intend to buy when she arrived.
