Don’t Miss Out On All the Intrigue

Some nights you just want to sit at home in your PJs, eating pizza and watching The Real Housewives of Dallas (or whatever) because you “just don’t feel like going out tonight, OK?” But three episodes in, you start surfing Snapchat and gosh darn it if you didn’t just miss Ne-Yo kissing the hands of clubgoers, Rihanna twerking with Kate Hudson or Diplo manning the decks in a dad hat.

Guests at the April 29 grand opening of Intrigue (in Wynn, IntrigueVegas.com) witnessed all of that action (not that any of it was advertised in advance) and more. Wynn’s newest nightlife offering—which forgoes upfront entertainment listings for the element of surprise—is meant to be experienced in real time.

Those lucky enough to be invited into the club’s private room (the entry is between the main staircase and that infamous elevator) are actually prohibited from using social media within its cream-colored walls. The cozy space is lined with vintage books and Louis Vuitton-inspired trunks turned into bottle lockers, marked only with numbers for discretion. And the DJ? Well, he or she is spinning actual vinyl from the club’s collection of 1,000 records.

Behind the bar, a two-way mirror looks out into the 1,200-capacity main room, where you may indeed post a picture (or three). There, blond wood flooring and white VIP booths shine and take on an overall pink hue under LED and chandelier lighting, and the star of the room is once again the dance floor, not the DJ.

The Tryst-era waterfall remains elegant as ever, and the club’s circular layout makes for easy meandering and mingling. Wanna groove? Expect open-format music ranging from Drake’s “Pop Style” to Joan Jett’s “I Love Rock ’n’ Roll.”

Among those on hand for Intrigue’s opening weekend were former Miss Universe Olivia Culpo, Creed actor Michael B. Jordan (swoon) and supermodel Gigi Hadid, who celebrated her 21st birthday with custom engraved Belvedere bottles (proof is on the ’gram.)

So, are you feeling the FOMO yet?
